Growing In Elevation
Tending to His Flock

He tends his flock like a Shepherd: He gathers the Lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart; He gently leads Those that have young.
Isaiah 40:11
Eight year old Jonathan was always tempting fate. His mother often held her breath watching him climb
to the highest tree branches. Swaying in the breeze, he'd hollar, "Hey, Mom, watch me!"
One day his mother watched in disbelief as Jonathan rode his bike downhill headed for a swing set
minus the swings. At breakneck speed, he stood on the bicycle seat and grabbed the top bar of the
swing set. She stifled a scream as he flipped over the top of the bar and landed flat on his back
on the cold, hard ground. She ran to his side and carried him home.
Jonathan's chest ached from having the wind knocked out of him. But when his mother called
the doctor's office, Jonathan insisted he was fine. She hung up and began checking him for any sign
of injury. She was surprised to find ballpoint pen circles around every cut, scrape, and bruise.
"What is all this?" she asked.
"That's all my hurts. I put a circle around all of them,: he said. Within minutes, he'd forgotten
his pain, wolfed down a bowl of mint chocolate-chip ice cream, and ran back outside.
Like a loving mother, God gathers His children up in His arms time and again, carry them
close to His heart. We may never know how many times God's providential hand has
prevented an injury, either physical or emotional, in our lives.
Our shepherd watches over us.

There are some things you have to eliminate in order for God to elevate you!
God has placed you somewhere, what are you going to do with that?
Romans 8:28 And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
